About PostScript 3
About PostScript 3
PostScript 3 is a page description language developed by Adobe Systems, Inc.
When using PostScript 3, the machine analyzes and renders the data received from a client computer, and prints the document accordingly. PostScript 3 can be used under both Windows and Macintosh environments.
Memory
When printing large or complex data, the machine may run out of memory and become unstable or unable to print.
Fonts
Type 1 fonts installed on this machine comply with the Adobe Type1 font format (1.1). However, if the font causes auto interference with its outlines, it may not print properly.
When characters that do not have font hinting information are used and downloaded into an application, the characters may be unclear when printed, depending on whether or not they are enlarged or compressed.
Miscellaneous
When the PostScript 3 printer driver is used, the actual output may not be as previewed in some applications.
When certain applications are used with the PostScript 3 printer driver, an extra blank page may be added to the end of duplex jobs with an odd number of pages. The added blank page will be counted as a black-and-white page.
Narrow lines may not print as required. Lines of the same line weight and color may print differently.
If you print on a custom size paper longer than 420 mm in horizontal length, it will be counted as A3 size paper. Be careful when billing options are installed on the machine.
When printing PostScript data with an image size that is larger than a paper size supported by the machine, the machine may not be able to print it properly. Try printing it by reducing the image size to fit within a paper size supported by the machine. This problem may occur if the value of [<</Policies <</PageSize] for the PostScript data is set to 5-7, so set the value to 3 or 4. The editing of PostScript data is not supported.
